MeatMix – Privacy policy
MeatMix.ca (otherwise referred to as “MeatMix.ca”/” the company”/”our company” “we”/” us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We make the Website, www.MeatMix.ca (after this referred to as the “Website”) available together with our services as further described in our Terms of Use (after this called the “Services”).
Our Privacy Policy defines how we collect, store, use and distribute information about our users through our Website and Services. Any terms not described in this privacy policy shall have their meaning assigned in our Terms of Use statement.
Consent:
By using our Website or our Services, you agree to the use of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy. Except as outlined in this Privacy Policy, your Personal Information will NOT be used for any purpose without your permission. We will not actively collect Personal Information for marketing or sale in a way that specifically identifies you, the individual. In other words, we do not sell customer lists in any way or form. You may withdraw your consent from your Personal Information to be used at any time. Though, withdrawing your consent may affect your ability to continue using our Website and/or our Services.
Collection of Information:
Only information that is required to manage your account, to provide the Services, to maintain our customer/visitor lists, to respond to your inquiries or provide feedback for identification, authentication purposes and service improvement as it relates to the company itself, will be collected, used and disclosed. We maintain the privacy of any contact information you provide to us on registering for our Services or when contacting us with inquiries or further information. We use such information only for the purposes for which the information is being collected for (subject to the exclusions and disclosures we have listed below) unless you agree that we may disclose it to any other third parties.
We collect two types of information through our Website and our Services: Personal and Non-Personal Information. This Privacy Policy does not extend to the collection, use or disclosure of the following information which is currently not limited by applicable privacy laws, namely Non-Personal Information (please see further definition of this below).
The first type of information we collect is “Personal Information” which refers to the information about an identifiable individual, i.e. your name, address, email address, credit card information, birth date and gender. We shall identify the data being collected and the purposes for which it will/may be used at the time of collection.
Certain requested Personal Information is required to register to use the Website or Services or be able to access and use the Website or Services at all. Providing Personal Information is your choice, and you can decide whether to provide or not. However, by not providing certain information, you may not be able to register and or use the Website or Services at all. In some instances, it may also mean that you will not be able to use only certain features of the Website or Services. We may collect Personal Information in respect of the Website through the registration process, communications with you ( email, phone, etc. ), purchases, surveys, and user support.
The second type of information we collect is: “Non-Personal Information” which refers to the information of an anonymous nature that is not capable of being linked to an identifiable individual, such as the domain used to access the Website, IP Address ( Internet Protocol Address ) and the type and version of browser or operating system being used by visitors to the Website when the foregoing is not linked to a specific individual.
Collective information, such as a count of visitors, what page(s) users access or visit, demographic statistics of our users (such as average age or the geographical location of our users/visitors, as examples) and average time spent on the Website are not considered Personal Information. Likewise, business contact information such as the name, title, business address, or telephone number of a business or professional person or an employee of an organisation is not considered Personal Information. Even though the use of certain Non-Personal Information collected, used or disclosed through the Internet as described herein is not restricted, we provide information in this Privacy Policy about the collection of such information for the sake of transparency to our customers, visitors, and customers concerning the operation of the Website.
Such Non-Personal Information is collected by us while operating this Website. For example, our web servers may automatically collect Non-Personal Information that is provided through your browser and/ or stored in a cookie when visiting our Website.
Personal Information Collected:
The following types of Personal Information will be collected by MeatMix from users who register for the Services for the purposes more specifically set out below:
• first name;
• last name;
• full address;
• email address;
• phone number (home and/or cell);
• credit card and billing information.
Collected Information Usage: We collect information for the following purposes:
• Registration:
To purchase our services, you must provide certain Personal Information to us such as your full name, address, phone number, credit card and email address. Provision of the Services: MeatMix.ca uses your name and address to deliver the products you order through the Website
• Personalization of the Services:
In addition to the Personal Information required to administer your account, MeatMix.ca may also collect demographic information such as household members and their ages to provide relevant order suggestions for your meat deliveries, blog ideas, etc.
• Payment for Services:
You must pay for the individual order or for subscription fees in advance by credit card. Customers paying by credit card must submit their credit card information to our merchant account payment gateway, which is provided and hosted by Paypal. All payment information is stored by our payment processor and not by MeatMix.ca. We do not process, save or hold a user credit card or payment information. The use of Paypal is subject to Paypal’s standard terms of use and privacy policy.
• Transactional Notifications:
We provide notifications for certain activities relating to your use of our Services regardless of your indicated email preferences. Such as, we may send you notices of any updates to our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy.
• Statistics:
We collect statistics about the use of the Services used through the Website, including order types by demographic and location. This information will be used to improve our Services and product line. This information will be kept confidential. However, collective statistics that constitute Non-Personal Information will be kept by us, and such aggregate statistics may be made available to other members or third parties.
• System Cookies & Logs:
A cookie is a feature of your web browser that consists of a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web server. We use cookies to track content usage and traffic on our Website. The Website uses cookies to help it compile aggregate statistics about usage of this Website – i.e. how many users visit the Website, how much time they spend viewing the Website, and what pages are being viewed the most. This way, you have a chance to decide whether or not to accept it. By disabling cookies, you may not be able to access all the features of the Website. Any personally identifiable information submitted by you when you are on our Website will not be linked to any information we use in cookies. If you are logged into a MeatMix.ca account, your IP address will be recorded together with your account information on our databases and is therefore treated as Personal Information, and safeguarded accordingly.
MeatMix.ca Advertisements:
We also use pixels and cookies (including Google and Facebook Analytics) to track pages viewed on our Website and use this information to better understand our traffic, send targeted advertising to users on third-party websites, create custom Website advertising audiences to send targeted ads via email and on third-party sites, and to analyze responses to advertising.
Advertisements by Third-Parties:
Adds appearing on our Website may be advertised by us or any third-party web advertisers. These third-party advertisers may set cookies. These cookies allow permission to the advertisement server operated by that third party to recognize your computer every time they send you an online advertisement. Accordingly, advertisement servers may collect information about where or whether you viewed their advertisements and which advertisements you clicked on. This information allows web advertisers to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of interest to you. Our Privacy Policy only applies to cookies placed on your computer by us ( MeatMix) but does not cover the use of cookies by any third-party web advertisers. For any third party advertisement policy, you should consult the applicable privacy policy for the relevant third-party web advertiser(s). MeatMix does not monitor any third party advertisers privacy policy. If our plan changes to use your Personal Information in the future for any other purposes not identified above, we will only do so after informing you by updating this Privacy Policy. For further details, see the section of this Privacy Policy entitled ‘Amendment of this Policy’. Disclosures & Transfers:
We have put in place prescribed and other organizational safeguards with our agents (see further below) to ensure a proper level of protection of your Personal Information (see further security below). Besides those measures, we will not disclose or transfer your Personal Information to third parties without your permission, except as specified in this Privacy Policy (see further Important Exceptions below).
As of today’s date, we only share your Personal Information in respect of the Website with partners and service providers such as payment processors, analytics providers, website hosting, and cloud service providers. Since all our servers are located in Canada and accordingly your Personal Information stored on our servers may be available to the Canadian government or its agencies under a lawful order, regardless of the safeguards we have put in place for the protection of your Personal Information. In the future, we may use third parties to help us improve our Website and/or our Services. These third parties will be subject to contractual restrictions prohibiting them from using our user personal information. Still, they will have limited access to our user personal information to help us improve on websites and or our services.
Important Exceptions:
If MeatMix has a reason to believe that disclosing some of our user personal information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, other Website members, other users of the Services, or anyone else (including the rights or property of anyone else) that could be harmed by such activities, MeatMix may disclose your personal information to third parties without consent. MeatMix may disclose Personal Information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by and following the law.
Your Personal Information may also be disclosed in connection with a corporate re-structure, a merger or amalgamation with another entity, a sale of all or a substantial portion of our business, assets or stock, including any due diligence exercise carried out concerning the same, provided that the information disclosed continues to be used for the purposes permitted by this Privacy Policy by the entity acquiring the information.
Security:
The security of our user’s Personal Information is crucial to us. We promise to employ any reasonable efforts to store and maintain your Personal Information in a secure environment. We undertake rigorous contractual, technical, administrative, and physical security steps designed to protect the Personal Information that you provide to us. Our implemented procedures are designed to limit the distribution and sharing of any of your Personal Information to only such team members as are reasonably necessary to carry out the stated purposes we have conversed with you. All personal information that we keep in our database will remain subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Your request to remove your name from our databases may not be possible to have all your Personal Information deleted completely from our databases due to technological and legal constraints.
Modification of this Policy:
MeatMix reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. At any point in time, If we decide to change this Privacy Policy in the future, we will post an update notice on our home page at MeatMix.ca. Any non-material change to this Privacy Policy will become effective on the date the change is posted on the Website, and any material changes will become effective 30 days from their posting on the Website. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all Personal Information that we have regarding you. The date of the latest update was indicated at the bottom of this document. We suggest that for your reference, you print a copy of this Privacy Policy and revisit this policy from time to time to ensure you are aware of any updates. Your continued use of the Website confirms your acceptance of any changes.
Accuracy and Access:
At any time, you can access the Personal Information we have in our database about you to verify the Personal Information we have collected for you and to have a general accounting of our uses of that information. You will be required to send a written request, and we will provide you with a copy of your Personal Information on file. Although, in certain limited conditions, we may not be able to make all relevant information available to you, such as where that information also relates to another user. In such conditions, if you request an explanation, we will provide reasons for the denial to you. You have an option to update, correct, delete or add to your Personal Information as appropriate, required or needed.
As suitable, this amended Personal Information will only be transmitted to those parties to whom we have permission to share your information with. Having up-to-date and accurate Personal Information about our customers allows us to provide the best possible service and experience.
